I’m sharing my top 4 post cheat day detox secrets!
We’ve all been there. A night of overindulgence, one too many glasses of wine, or an extra 3 slices of birthday cake that just made you feel groggy and overstuffed the next morning. Cheat days, Friday nights, whatever occasion leads you to overindulge once in a while is a part of life.
Obviously, minimizing those cheat events is the only way to get lasting fitness results. However, what you do the day after a cheat meal is super important. You have the choice of spiraling down a path of eating poorly on a regular basis or you can pick yourself up the very next morning and get right back on a healthy track.
Here are my favorite things to do the day after a big meal to help you feel healthy and rebalance your body for effective fat burning.
Step 1: Break a sweat!
Get at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity. Strength training is great for building lean muscle but you really want to get your heart rate up and break a sweat to flush out your system the day after a large or unhealthy meal.
- jog, run, or walk at a fast pace
- jump rope
- do a strength training routine that involve plyometric exercises such as jumping jacks and jump squats
Step 2: Hydrate with lemon water.
Drinking plenty of water on a daily basis is essential to longterm health. However, when you’re trying to flush out toxins you definitely want to up the ante. Not only should you aim to double your normal water intake, add a splash of lemon or lime to each cup nourish your body with vitamin C and cleanse your system.
Step 3: Go green.
Getting some dark leafy greens is the best way to neutralize acidity in your body that can build up from too much sugar, alcohol, and fat consumption. You can have a huge salad for lunch, or even better, guzzle down 1-2 green drinks the day after a food feast!Print

1 large handful fresh spinach
1/2 C frozen pineapple chunks
1 tsp flax seeds
1 cup water
3 cubes ice
Blend ingredients together. Add more water if thinner consistency is desired. Serve cold.
